Description

The Office of the Queen's Printer requires a Legislative Editor to fulfill editing and research duties in the area of legislative publications, including consolidations of Statutes and Regulations, The Saskatchewan Gazette, Rules of Court, Legislative Table of Contents (Statutes and Regulations), loose-leaf releases and other legislative and non-legislative publications. Reporting to the Senior Editor, the Editor is required to manage sensitive, confidential information, possess exceptional grammatical, organizational, research, writing and communication skills, and have the ability to work professionally and tactfully with government and private sector clients and stakeholders in a high volume, fast-paced environment. As well, the Editor is responsible for answering information requests from members of the public and government on a variety of legislative matters and for helping people understand the information provided, and/or referring them to authoritative sources. In the Senior Editor's absence, the Editor must be able to fill the role of Supervisor of the Editorial Group in the areas of Human Resource matters, scheduling of workloads, setting job priorities, meeting project and publishing deadlines, team building and leadership.

Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be obtained by the completion of a degree in English, or the equivalent of education and job experience combined, such as a legal background involving familiarity with, and the use of legislation and/or its legal interpretations, applications, functions and procedures.
