Description
The Regina Open Door Society Inc is seeking a qualified individual to staff a one year term position (from November 9, 2009 to November 10, 2010) for an Employment Readiness Counsellor. This position requires knowledge of employment counselling, employer practices and expectations, the local employment community, as well as the obstacles faced by immigrants and refugees as they attempt to enter the labour force.
The position requires the ability to communicate with clients who may have little or no English or formal education ? listening and speaking skills are particularly crucial. The Employment Counsellor must also have well developed coaching / teaching skills for conversing with clients and effective business communication skills for communicating with outside agencies and employers.
This position requires counselling training/experience and cross-cultural experience.
Qualified applicants will have a post-secondary degree in psychology, social work, adult education, human services, or a related discipline or a combination of directly related experience and education.
This is a full time position. Hours of work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with every second Friday or Monday off. The closing date for applications is Friday October 30, 2009. Salary for this position is $38,108.15.
