Description
The Merchandiser is responsible for setting up pre-designed and free-hand displays, requiring a good understanding of retail operations and an artistic eye. Merchandisers are required to merchandise the store prior to the opening.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Meet, greet and thank customers, providing friendly, informed service
-Merchandise aisles, ends, bases, displays, wing panels and strips
-Merchandise free-hand, and based on modules
-Maintain daily promotional fullness
-Maintain weekly promotional fullness
-Maintain fixturing appearance
-Maintain regular product merchandising and presentation
-Ensure signage is 100% maintained
-Maintain professional appearance (uniform, hygiene, grooming & name tag)
-Adhere to company, store and department policies
-Participate in meetings and all training, as required
-Complete other tasks, as required
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
-Minimum of one year retail operations experience
-Ability to provide professional customer service and employee support
-Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals
-Ability to maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
-Attention to detail and organizational skills
-Ability to complete tasks according to instructions and demonstrate responsibility for outcomes
-Punctual
-Effective oral and written communication skills
There are also physical demands that must be met, including the ability to stand/walk for extended periods, lifting and carrying of material and/or product.
