Description
The Licensed Automotive Technician plays a key role on the automotive service team. Working in a busy service centre, with state-of-the-art equipment and modern technical training, the technician's ability to combine automotive expertise with good customer relations skills contribute to making Canadian Tire the most recognized leader in the automotive service industry.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES IN THIS ROLE: -Perform maintenance and repair vehicles as requested by customers -Perform road tests using safe driving standards -Providing written, prioritized quotations for necessary additional work -Notify service advisor and customer of additional maintenance work required to be recorded -Explain procedures and repairs directly to customers, as required -Perform daily bay inspections -Instruct apprentices: monitor and verify their work for accuracy -Increase sales of the service department -Maintain company and personally-owned equipment and tools in good repair -Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the operation, maintenance and repair of most domestic and imported cars -Maintain professional appearance (uniform, hygiene, grooming & name tag) -Follow company, store and department policies -Follow store health & safety program and observe provincial occupational health & safety regulations -Participate in meetings and all training, as required -Complete other tasks, as required
MAJOR SKILL SETS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE: -Valid mechanic's license -Valid driver's license for province of employ -Ability to provide professional customer service and employee support -Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals -Ability to maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment -Ability to complete tasks according to instructions and demonstrate responsibility for outcomes -Organizational ability and attention to detail -Effective written and oral communication skills -Basic math
