Description
The Automotive Parts Counter Person helps customers in person and over the phone using a computerized auto parts look-up system to find the right part. In this position you need to be able to stand, smile, and help customers all day as well as remaining productive between customers by maintaining the automotive retail floor at a high level.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Meet, greet and thank customers, providing friendly, informed service to customers in person and over the phone -Guide customers to location of products -Provide parts order-desk services -Suggest value-added and related products to ensure customers are able to ?Complete the Job? -Source and order automotive parts for customers through authorized suppliers -Follow established procedures regarding the ordering and sale of parts to the Service Department -Process customer returns and warranties -Test batteries, starters and alternators -Stock and maintain shelves and display areas -Demonstrate a commitment to the Four Basics of Retail Execution: Faced, Filled, Priced and Cleaned -Maintain inventory accuracy & identify and report low stock -Keep informed of promotions and in-store deals -Follow company, store and department policies -Follow store health & safety program and observe provincial occupational health & safety regulations -Participate in meetings and all training, as required -Complete other tasks, as required -Flexible hours and weekends expected MAJOR REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES: -Ability to provide professional customer service and employee support -Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals -Ability to maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment -Ability to complete tasks according to instructions and demonstrate responsibility for outcomes -Organizational ability and attention to detail -Punctuality and reliable -Effective written and oral communication skills as well as basic math and keyboarding skills
