Duties:
Reporting to the Field Supervisor and the Customer Service Office Manager, this position is responsible for the following: Perform crop inspections on farms; Gather data necessary to determine indemnities for programs administered by Crop Insurance and AgriStability; Submit claims neatly, accurately and completely; Carry out fieldwork dealing with dissatisfied customers or problem situations; Measure bins and acreages accurately.
Qualifications:
Grade 12, with a detailed knowledge of farming practices and crops. Other qualifications include: Ability to identify crop disease, insect damage and other causes of loss; Ability to work independently; Clear, legible handwriting; Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise good judgement in situations that are not covered by policies and procedures; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Knowledge of and experience with mathematical calculations; Knowledge of and experience with computers; Good physical condition with the ability to walk long distances for field measurements and climb ladders and bins to measure grain; Preference will be given to those applicants with knowledge of Crop Insurance and AgriStability programs, policies and procedures.
Conditions:
Valid driver's licence; Suitable vehicle to carry out responsibilities; Required to work on short notice; Required to work weekends when necessary; the successful candidate will be subject to an acceptable criminal record check.
