Duties/Responsibilities
Reporting to the Customer Service Office Manager, this position is responsible for the following:
- Answer customer inquiries made directly to the office on programs delivered by SCIC in a timely manner. - Answer inquiries made from various head office departments either by phone, mail or e-mail. - Complete miscellaneous clerical duties such as correspondence, reports, batching, mail, filing, supply need identification and requisition, as required. - Maintain a clear understanding of computer work; data entry, computer program knowledge and use. - Participate as a member of the sales team for the annual sales of the crop insurance program. - Prepare, distribute, check and process adjuster work and expense and activity reports. - Provide input into daily job duties within specified guidelines. - There is an expectation that this position will provide customer service related duties to all SCIC programs.
Qualifications
Grade 12, supplemented by a relevant business course and extensive related clerical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other qualifications include:
- Strong written and oral communication skills with experience in explaining complex policies and procedures in layperson terms. - Strong interpersonal, with the ability to deal tactfully with co-workers and the public, where they may, at times, be difficult and confrontational. - Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision. - Experience with computer applications, specifically word processing, excel, messaging and scheduling software (e-mail). - Customer focused. - Ability to independently plan, organize and manage workload. - Basic farm/agriculture knowledge. - Preference will be given to those with extensive knowledge of the CAIS/AgriStability programs.
