Applications are invited for the Temporary Position of 1.0 FTE (7.5 hr/day, 10 month) full-time Certified Aboriginal / Community Outreach Worker II for Maude Burke Community School with duties to commence on or about March 8, 2010, and conclude June 30, 2010.
Please note that the classification of Certified Aboriginal/Community Outreach Worker II does require the successful candidate to hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Psychology from a recognized and accredited university.
The successful applicant will work closely with school administration, staff, parents, community, and other agencies to implement and coordinate programs for at-risk children and their families at Maude Burke Community School, a designated "Community School" with Saskatchewan Education.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and be willing to work a flexible workday. A valid driver's licence and a vehicle are required as well as a clear criminal record.
Experience working with aboriginal children and youth, as well as with at-risk youth and their families will also be considered valuable assets. The successful candidate will develop and implement effective strategies that will support children and youth. This position is overseen by the Coordinator of Integrated Services.
