Description

This position is dependent on funding from Canada must be registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year; intend to return to secondary or post-secondary sChool on a full-time basis during the next academic year; between 16 and 3- years of age; legally entitled to work in Canada; and not be working 30 hours or more at another job. Tasks and Responsibilities: To become knowledgeable about the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery (MJM&AG), its exhibitions and programs, in order to share this information with participants and the public, as necessary.
Mornings - Culture Program Assistant Duties
- To bring awareness of art and culture to the youth of Moose Jaw through their participation in Summer Art & Culture Camp, regardless of financial limitations.
- To provide art education to children in the community through this program, including a blend of art activities such as drawing and painting, clay, cartooning
- To help youth explore their own creativity by working with various art materials and through contact with visiting artists and Museum exhibits
- To promote the importance of culture and cultural  organizations to the Summer Art & Culture Camp
- To assist with the delivery of the program, including set up and cleanup as required
- To assist with the contact to referral organizations to identify children and teens to participate
- To assist with contacting appropriate resource people in the community
Afternoons - Shop Assistant Duties
- Sales and record keeping
- Keeping shelves stocked, including ordering from consignors
- Housekeeping
- Opening and closing on time
- Promotion and marketing
- Understanding the mandate and policies
- Other related duties, as assigned
