The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA) is seeking an individual for the position of Infection Control Advisor. NITHA is a dynamic and evolving healthcare agency that provides health program support to its four northern partners - Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation. The four partners have more than 20 years of combined experience in the provision of health services in the Health Canada "transfer environment" and in the delivery of nursing, public health and primary care treatment services in 33 First Nations communities.
Qualifications and Experience:
The incumbent requires a diploma or undergraduate degree in a health related field. Master's degree in the health sciences such as public health or epidemiology would be a definite asset as well. A minimum of three years of relevant experience, particularly in the area of infection control is required. Demonstrated leadership qualities and/or experience with working in a First Nations health organization are desirable. Equivalent education and experience will be considered. Ability to apply a thorough knowledge of infection control practices to support the design, development and on-going improvement of related programs and services. Ability to identify, plan, develop and implement infection control practices and service delivery through others. Ability to provide advisory services and guidance in matters requiring interpretation of infection control practices and standards and assist with problem-solving. Excellent verbal and communication skills, project manager, trainer and self-starter with the ability to set priorities for own work and meets deadlines.
