You must be able to provide daily support to the Director Wildfire Management Operations and the Manager of the Provincial Fire Center in the areas of cost recovery, fixed and variable budget expenditure report reviews, human resource management and respond to daily requests such as preparing briefing materials. You must possess excellent supervisory skills, along with well-developed written and organizational skills using a variety of computer programs to collect, organize and store daily fire information, maintain the type 1 fire fighter eligibility list and be able to produce a variety of reports such as the automated media reports, Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Center reports and the annual and mid-season type 2 agreement reports. You must possess excellent communication skills in responding to calls on the 1-800 fire watch phone line, dealing with internal and external agencies requiring fire information, inquiries over they type 2 agreements and be trained to act in the role of Fire Information Officer in certain situations. You must have extensive knowledge, expertise and experience to procure uniform components and maintain property inventory. You must be able to travel by land and by air to remote locations to conduct work activities on occasion; however, most of the time this position will be located in Prince Albert.
