Description

The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is the national synchrotron research facility on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon. CLSI is currently recruiting a Communications Coordinator to develop, implement, and evaluate communication initiatives that support and increase awareness of the research and scientific outcomes taking place at the CLS.  

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Communications Coordinator holds primary responsibility for corporate communication activities at the CLS, which includes media relations, internal communications planning and assessment, and crisis communications/issues management. The Coordinator acts as the lead contact for media inquiries, as well as conducting media tours and delivering presentations. Writing and producing media releases, articles, and backgrounders is a core function of this role. Working collaboratively in a team environment, the Communications Coordinator coordinates the production of the CLS Research Report, a key publication that highlights the quality of science and technical progress made at Canadas national synchrotron facility. In addition, this position prepares technical summaries and science highlights informational materials, and is responsible for maintaining the CLS media web page. Internal communication responsibilities include production of CLS staff newsletter In the Loop, and participating in special projects and/or committees such as the CLS Annual Report, Innovision, or the CLS Strategic Plan.
