Description
Fortis Engineering & Manufacturing Inc. services the mining and heavy industry sector with fabrication of custom engineered components. We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our fabrication team in our CWB welding shop. This is a full-time position with opportunities for additional work.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Fabricate new components, equipment and other custom-engineered products
- Weld repairs, modifications and retrofits
- Troubleshooting and identifying solutions to meet customer needs
- May be required to travel to customer sites on occasion to complete onsite welding
- Inspect and maintain machines
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum 2 5 years welding experience
- Journeyperson qualifications beneficial but not required
- Ability to work independently and also take direction from others
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- CWB Certification preferred but not required
- Possess a valid drivers license
