Big Brothers of Regina Employment Opportunity
Position: Summer Student (Full-Time 10 weeks)

Big Brothers of Regina is seeking a summer student for our mentoring programs in Regina. Our Traditional Match and In-School Mentoring programs pair young people aged 6-16 with positive adult role models. The incumbent will provide administrative support and casework management in accordance with the National Standards set out by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.

The Summer Student will work within the guidelines, policies and mission of the Agency and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities
Reception & Admin
-Reply to general public enquiries about programs and services in a professional manner
-Comply with organizations standard operating procedure for data entry while keeping confidentiality
-filing and casework support as required

Program Support:
-Perform other duties in support of the organizational goals that may be assigned by the Executive Director
-Assisting in planning and implementing group activities (including camping).
-Keeping families and volunteers informed of on-going agency programs and services as appropriate.
-Assist events co-ordinator in executing fundraising tasks (such as soliciting donated items for silent auction)

Qualifications
You must be enrolled in full time studies in the fall in one of the following programs:
education, social or human services, child and youth work, family studies etc.

In addition to this, the agency may require the incumbent to have:

    effective oral and written communication skills
    strong problem solving skills
    ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
    ability to work independently and as part of a team
    sound computer skills
    ability to work flexible hours
    access to a vehicle
