This position is primarily responsible for executing the flow of merchandise into and out of the Store, as well as flow throughout the store as required, in order to maximize sale and profitability consistent with Sears Mission, Vision and Values. This involves:
Participating in the daily offloading and content distribution of containers and trailers, including reviewing the load conditions of merchandise arrivals, checking and verifying trailer content and bills of lading, and flowing merchandise to floor/stockroom locations;
Collaborating with other areas within the store to ensure merchandise is staged, available, and ready for the customer;
Providing shipping and receiving services, including to/from stockroom, sales floor, delivery sites, customers, warehouses, sources, etc., in accordance with defined procedures
Providing superior customer service at the dock pickup area, and care and attention during the loading and offloading of merchandise in to customer vehicles, responding to customer queries, resolving problems/issues, ensuring merchandise is not damaged during loading etc;
Success in this role calls for strong customer service skills and an energetic and diligent work ethic. The ideal job candidate will have previous shipping/receiving skills, or an equivalent understanding of basic shipping/receiving requirements. Other qualifications for this job include:
