Description
The applicant must be self motivated and will assist in the construction and maintenance of the road network. This position offers a comprehensive benefits package after the applicable probationary period has been completed. The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Operate equipment on roadways within the designated area in a safe and timely manner.
Operator must report any unsafe or dangerous road conditions to administration.
Performance of all daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment.
Responsible for general care and maintenance of equipment and must inform administration of any necessary major repairs.
Operator must keep work area clean and safe.
Hours of operation are 7 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday.
Other duties as required.
The preferred candidate should possess the following qualifications:
Valid Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
Strong communication skills.
Must be able to work independently and within a team.
Experience operating equipment in a municipal environment will be an asset.
In accordance with Municipal Policy, the successful candidate may be required to provide a Driver's Abstract and submit to a Criminal Records Check and Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
