Description

The Program Coordinator is responsible for direct service provision and coordination of the Village Networks Program as per agreement with Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. The position operates under the direct supervision of the YWCA Director of Social Programs. This is a full-time, temporary position to September 30, 2012.

Responsibilities
-Provide and facilitate opportunities for single mothers, children and families including weekly children's programming, activities for mothers and various programs for health, fitness, recreation and education
-Involvement in planning, review and development of materials and resources
-Prepare and develop programming, partnerships, monthly newsletters and the website
-Communicate on a weekly basis with Director regarding activities, updates, program costs and other relevant information
-Organize, track and keep records for evaluation/reporting purposes
-Identify and address barriers to full particpation
-Assist in making connections to single-mother headed families through partners' existing programs, existing communciation channels and through informal referrals.

Qualifications
-2 year post-secondary diploma in a related field (eg. education, social or human services, child and youth work, family studies etc.)
-Effective oral and written communcation skills
-A demonstrated understanding of community development principles and practices and the capacity to recruit and manage volunteers
-Strong problem-solving skills
-Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Sound computer skills
-Ability to work flexible hours and manage time appropriately
-Access to a vehicle and a valid SK driver's license
-A clear criminal record check
