Description
Reporting to the general manager, you will take the lead role in preparing estimates for house packages, deck packages, shed packages, etc.
The successful candidate will:
- Prepare materials estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications
- Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
- Present estimates and conduct review meetings with customers
- Participate and coordinate company risk and opportunity evaluation with customers
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures
- Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation
- Be responsible for closing the sale
- Speak clearly in the English language
- Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to interpret job cost reports
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Client service and public interaction skills
EDUCATION: Post-secondary degree in construction/engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience in the carpentry field and 2 years in estimating large residential renovations, new home construction and small commercial projects
