This Out of Scope position reports directly to the Facility Administrator. In collaboration with the Facility Administrator, the Nurse Manager will develop Acute Care programs/services and policies/procedures which are congruent with Regional goals and objectives and which meet recognized best practice standards, to ensure quality patient care. The Nurse Manager will be accountable for implementation, maintenance and evaluation of these services/programs/policies while working within budgetary parameters to ensure safe quality care to these assigned patient populations.
The Nurse Manager is accountable for planning and organizing ongoing staff education, hiring/termination of staff, scheduling of the appropriate level and mix of personnel, performance reviews. The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations and programs are in place and staff is in compliance with them.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 3 5 years of nursing experience or a combination of education and experience.
Previous managerial experience with clinical competence in an acute care setting is an asset.
Current registration with Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association.
Willingness to obtain and maintain clinical knowledge and experience, i.e. BCLS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, IVP Meds, physical assessment and health history taking.
Experience working in a computerized environment.
