Description

Cognitive Disability Consultant - Cognitive
Disability Strategy, Saskatoon Region

Full-time position

The Cognitive Disability Strategy (CDS) is an
integrative team planning initiative that offers
support to individuals with a cognitive
disability. CDS is hiring a full-time Cognitive
Disability Consultant for a term position based in
Saskatoon.

Duties:
Education towards Community Capacity Building.
Work to enhance the knowledge and skills of
families and service providers in meeting the
needs of individuals with cognitive disabilities
who have behavioural and developmental challenges
    Behavioral Support/Consultation  works
with families to develop behavioral intervention
plans
Provide enhanced consultation to planning  and
participate in and support case planning
Work as part of the Intake Team to determine
eligibility into the CDS
Prepare service providers to work with children
and youth with cognitive disabilities
Increased Awareness of Cognitive Disability
Strategy
Work with the local community service delivery
mechanism to promote a team approach to providing
services to individuals with cognitive
disabilities
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
A university degree in the human services field,
such as Social Work, Education, Educational
Psychology, Psychology or Nursing. A Masters
degree would be an asset.
Experience working in a team environment and
with individuals with disabilities.
Excellent communication and organizational
skills.
A criminal record check and a vulnerable sector
check are required.
