Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE: To perform a wide range of activities associated with the efficient functioning of the University Beef Cattle Research and Teaching Unit.
NATURE OF WORK: Reporting to the Animal Technician Supervisor, this position performs feeding and caring for beef cattle and assisting with research and student training in the beef unit. Work is performed independently with minimal supervision. It involves lifting and moving of heavy feed and other supplies. Working in a facility with large animals, the incumbent is exposed to animal dander, feed and bedding dust, waste and unpredictable animal behavior. Irregular hours of work are required, including weekends, unsocial hours and overtime during peak times throughout the year.
