Working with senior leadership team, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator will help lead a communications strategy that creates awareness about the Alzheimer Society, Alzheimers disease and the important programs and services that we provide to people affected by dementia in communities across Saskatchewan. You will create awareness about opportunities to become involved in the Society as a volunteer or a supporter. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with volunteers, supporters and communities while promoting the important work that we do.
The successful candidate will have experience in the not-for-profit sector, and be passionate about the Societys cause.
Additionally you will have the following key attributes and qualifications:
post secondary education with courses in marketing, public relations and communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
previous marketing and communications experience which included the development of public relations and communications plans, working with media, preferably in a not-for-profit, healthcare-focused environment and website maintenance;
understanding of and experience in media relations, with a proven track record of building and maintaining media relationships;
thorough understanding of new media and proven experience in the use of social media platforms and strategies;
excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write compelling copy for a various publications and audiences;
Proficiency in computer and graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite, and databases;
Experience in successful project management and the ability to work as a member or leader of a project team;
flexible with the ability to handle multiple projects within agreed timeframes;
Flexible schedule which allows occasional evening and weekend work.
