Do you want to have an impact on the future of public library service in Saskatchewan? Do you want to hone your policy development skills and consensus building abilities in a complex environment? We are seeking a Provincial Cataloguing Coordinator to provide coordination, analysis and problem solving for present-day and future cataloguing and metadata standards and technical services. You will lead and build consensus relating to the evolving province-wide cataloguing policies, standards and procedures among public library partners in the Saskatchewan Information & Library Services (SILS) Consortium Inc.
On a day-to-day basis, the Provincial Cataloguing Coordinator monitors and ensures the quality of cataloguing for the shared provincial catalogue with emphasis on the work of internal cataloguing staff at Provincial Library and Literacy Office. You will have knowledge of library cataloguing and metadata standards and classification in all subject areas and formats. You will act as a reference for internal staff and a number of external stakeholders on cataloguing policies and procedures. You will have the ability to create original cataloguing records when the technicians are unable to find a suitable record to add to the database.
