If you are an expert in policy analysis and developing government strategies and you have an understanding and passion for international affairs, then the International Relations branch of Executive Council wants to speak to you!
International Relations has an opening for a one year term International Officer who will be responsible for:
developing and coordinating the government's strategic framework for US and other international relations, in collaboration with ministries and agencies;
monitoring and analyzing trends/developments in priority international markets to identify strategic opportunities and emerging risks;
briefing support to the Premier and Ministers on international missions; and
briefings, support and advice to ministries and agencies in the conduct of international relations, including diplomatic visits to Saskatchewan and outgoing missions.
We are looking for someone with advanced policy analysis and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will be very skilled at building relationships and negotiating, have a good understanding of the strategic international opportunities available to Saskatchewan, and excel in managing multiple policy files in a fast-paced environment.
At least five years of professional and/or management experience in government (provincial or federal) will be an asset, as will a Masters degree in international affairs, economics or related field. Other individuals with relevant background and experience will be considered.
