Reporting to the Vice President Institutional & Emergency Care, the Director Pharmacy is accountable for the implementation of pharmacy policy and systems as they relate to pharmaceutical care and the handling of all pharmaceutical supplies for the Health Region. As well as overseeing the provisions of pharmacy services and programs for acute care, primary health care, home care and long-term care clients, and liaising with community pharmacists, the Director Pharmacy ensures that the services are consistent with policies, standards, legal requirements, philosophy and mission of the pharmacy, Health Region and pharmacy profession. This position requires extensive collaborative and teamwork skills with health care providers as well as jurisdictional, service delivery and professional agencies.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree.
Shall be professionally competent and a legally qualified Pharmacist with a Saskatchewan License from the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacists.
The Director of Pharmacy should be a member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists.
Five years of Pharmacy Experience.
Minimum two years experience in management. Completion of an accredited hospital pharmacy residency program or Pharm D program is an asset. The incumbent must posses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise staff at multiple locations.
