Description

As a Senior Regional Financial Analyst you will be part of a team of creative professionals involved in facilitating health region understanding of government priorities and policies, assisting health regions in implementing initiatives to address provincial and regional priorities, and addressing ad hoc case management problems.

You will have primary responsibilities for:
developing, managing, monitoring and reporting systems that provide senior leaders in the Ministry of Health and the RHAs with information on RHA performance, the status of accountability indicators and operating results;
providing leadership and assistance to RHAs in the development of operational plans that are consistent with government priorities and include strategic options to address service and financial challenges or opportunities;
developing and documenting accountability measures and expectations that are consistent with provincial priorities and monitoring and reporting compliance against those measures;
balancing the interests of RHAs, the province and the public in determining resource allocation requirements, developing recommendations and providing decision documents and briefing materials to senior leaders; and
negotiating funding priorities and identifying associated accountability measures.
Some in-province travel may be required.

Typically the knowledge and qualifications for this position are gained through completion of a professional accounting designation (CMA, CA, CGA), or a university degree in a related field (commerce or business administration), and several years of related work experience.
