Description
The Shaft Coordinator is responsible for directing and coordinating activities in shafts of the underground department. This position also schedules and plans maintenance, construction projects and shaft activities.
1.Sets and reviews production schedules to ascertain data such as types, quantities, and specifications of mining supplies necessary and schedules delivery dates in order to meet department objectives.
2.Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operations problems to ensure minimum costs and to prevent operational delays.
3.Inspects equipment and workplaces to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
4.Develops or revises standard operational and working practices, while observing workers and supervisors to ensure compliance with standards.
5.Interprets and communicates company policies to workers and supervisors. Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and supervisors and assigns duties.
6.Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
7.Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase production efficiency.
8.Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
9.Maintains time and production records.
10.Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
7 - 10 years' experience required. Solid foundation in shaft sinking. Progressive experience in managing employees.
