Description
This position is responsible for the overall administration of long term care in Humboldt. This includes strategic planning, organization, direction, leadership, coordination, education, evaluation of services and staff and
communication/interaction with professionals and care groups across Saskatoon Health Region to provide a seamless continuum of care. The Manager is responsible for financial accountability including budget development, ongoing analysis of capital, supply and salary budgets, as well as resource allocation and utilization. The Manager is accountable for establishment and maintenance of practice standards, clinical/client education, and quality improvement and participates in and/or supports research activities. The
Manager is responsible for creating and sustaining a workplace environment that fosters respect, builds trust,practices open communication, encourages innovation and promotes meaningful staff participation, growth and development.
THE PERSON
A degree or diploma in Nursing and registration in good standing with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association is preferred.
A degree in Health, Social Science or Business with a focus on health care, or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Minimum three years managerial experience in a health care organization.
Knowledge of long term care is required.
Previous experience managing in a unionized work environment is an asset.
Enthusiastic self-starter with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead change.
Understands and is committed to the philosophy of primary health.
A working knowledge of modern office technology.
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Good attendance required.
