24 HR Animal Care Centre is looking for a certified, registered Vet Tech who enjoys the challenge of emergency and routine companion animal care.
As a technologist you will be integral to providing assistance with emergency surgeries, endoscopies, Doppler ultrasounds, digital x-rays, dental procedures, and routine companion animal care in addition to performing veni punctures, setting IV fluids, running lab machines in our fully integrated IDEXX laboratory, taking V/A differentials, measuring blood pressure, and monitoring anaesthetized and hospitalized patients. We also feature Cornerstone Practice Management software.
Our technologists have 12 hour shifts 12 to 15 times per month on a rotational basis through night and weekend shifts. We also have shifts available on a part-time, casual basis to supplement your current income. We can work with your existing work schedule if you wish to have just 1 or 2 shifts per week, or strictly overnight shifts.
Wages start at $16/hr - $21/hr (DOE) and we can also provide you with a health and dental package, paid SAVT dues, shift premiums, as well as the continuing education and uniform allowance. Check out our website or find us on Facebook for more information!
Education: Veterinary Technologist (Technician) Diploma
Experience: New grad or experienced.
*Please note applicants must be certified as a Veterinary Technologist from an AVMA and/or CVMA accredited school.
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Registration by a provincial or territorial, or regional association as Registered Animal Health Technologist, Registered Veterinary Technician
Specific Skills
- Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian
- Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
- Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
