2 YEAR - TEMPORARY FULL-TIME COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE
1 YEAR - TEMPORARY FULL-TIME DIABETES NURSE EDUCATOR (DNE)
Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department is currently seeking a 2 year - Temporary Full Time, Community Health Nurse and a 1 Year - Temporary Full Time, Diabetes Nurse Educator to work in La Ronge. The ideal candidates will be required to provide nursing services to the communities of La Ronge, Sucker River, Hall Lake and Grandmother's Bay.
Duties:
>Utilize teaching assessment and nursing skills to effectively assist clients maintain and achieve an optimal level of health;
>Provide direct care by assessing client health needs, planning care, implementing interventions and evaluating outcomes;
>Promote healthy lifestyles, disease prevention and communicable disease control;
>Assess needs of Band Members and make necessary referrals;
>Act as a client advocate and a liaison between LLRIBHS and other agencies;
>Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
>In good standing and registered with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA);
>Diabetes Nurse Educator certificate for DNE position;
>Previous Home Care, Community Health experience is an asset;
>Strong leadership and communication skills;
>Ability to work effectively as a team member and able to travel;
>The ability to speak and/or understand Cree is a definite asset;
>Must have a Class 5 Drivers license;
>Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record Clearance/Child Abuse Record Check and Driver's Abstract required upon hire;
