With an increasingly busy sector in and around the
cities of Weyburn and Estevan, Saskatchewan, IEI
Industrial Electric & Instrumentation Ltd. is
looking to add talent to their already established
employee base. We are now accepting applications
for Automation Technicians.
IEI Industrial Electric & Instrumentation Ltd. was
founded in 1975 and is now supplying the services
of over 50 Electricians and Instrumentation
Technicians. Together with our alliance to Comtech
(Communication Technologies) Ltd., we supply
electrical, instrumentation, automation, and
communication goods and services to several major
oilfield and commercial companies.
The responsibilities of an Automation Technician
include:
- Working with clients to troubleshoot process
issues, DCS & PLC configurations and graphical
interface modifications
- Maintaining safeguards on control systems as a
layer of protection to inherent process risks
- Maintain Plant Networks (redundant Ethernet,
Fibre, Switches)
- Commissioning, Start-up, and maintenance of
facilities and projects
- Working with internal and external resources to
specify, develop, and test software in support of
PLC and HMI systems
- The safe maintenance and configuration, system
availability, and optimization of clients DCS,
SIS, and associated PLCs
Qualifications
- Must have Oil & Gas industry experience
- Strong technician/computer back ground,
including related post-secondary schooling
- PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley
Control Logix, Compact Logix, PLC-5, SLC-5
- HMI development experience in Xspoc, Factory
Talk, RS View, and clearSCADA
- Good working knowledge of SCADA, SCADA system
requirements, and OPC
- Strong knowledge of RTUs
- Knowledge of Modbus TCP/IP and Serial
communications
- The ability to demonstrate proficiency in
programming abilities for alarm management, flow
measurement, and process
optimization
