Description

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for specific quality assurance activities such as supervision of the product test lab and production, QA/QC responsibilities, relating to product acceptance, as well as analysis of product quality data and corresponding leadership role in the improvement cycle

Responsibilities include:
Perform periodic audits to ensure conformance with documented work procedures. As required, participate in TPG internal and external audit functions.
Monitor downgrade trends specific and communicate issues to QA and Operations. Develop improvement opportunities.
Provide dispositions for product on quality hold.
Participate in product and process trials with pipe making, and research personnel.
Investigate, analyze results and compile reports on product claims.
Drives vendors quality improvement through process audits
Assesses potential new suppliers
Performs supplier corrective action verification activities
Liaise with QA Management to manage incoming inspection issues and field issues
Develop training literature for quality inspectors.

Requirements
Recognized Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering.
3 years minimum experience in quality control/systems a plus.
Understanding of ISO Quality standards and Quality Management Systems.
Knowledge of pipe processes and operations.
Knowledge of tubular industry standards including API, CSA, ASTM.
Trained in quality auditing.
Capable of using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Good technical writing skills.
Experience working with interdepartmental teams at all levels of management to accomplish tasks.
Able to work effectively with hourly and management ranks.

Travel Requirements:
Periodic travel between in US and Canada.
