Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Integrated Health Services, the Regional Director of Laboratory Services provides leadership and management for lab services within a Patient First environment across the region.

Responsibilities include:
Supervision and administration of lab services, HR management, budget preparation, financial monitoring/reporting, Quality Assurance and oversight on projects.
Ensuring technical, managerial and educational support for labs.
Working collaboratively with PNHR leaders, physicians, directors, staff and Laboratory counter-parts across the province.
Promoting change, particularly in implementing the future provincial directions that will be established by the 3sHealth Medical Laboratory Services.
Utilizing concepts of Lean Leader Certification.

The successful candidate must:
Be a member of the SK Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists, AB Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists and the Canadian Society of Laboratory Technologists.  
Have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a hospital lab environment in a management position (preferred).
Possess comprehensive knowledge of lab theory\practice, and apply these skills in clinical and managerial situations.
Have a demonstrated track record in continuing education, project management, problem solving, strategic management and visual management.
Participate in Lean Leader Certification; engage staff in learning the knowledge and skills to continuously improve their work.
Have significant interpersonal/communication skills and a demonstrated track record as a team member, collaboration in maintaining high standards for the application/maintenance of standard work.
Be detail and process-oriented, with a vision of continuous improvement and positive culture.
