Description

Lifeguard and Instructor required for Camp Tamarack which is a residential academic summer camp for children and Teens with learning disabilities .  The camp is located 25 km northwest of Prince Albert, SK.

Qualifications:
National Lifeguard Service Certificate
CPR Level C Certificate
Red Cross Water Safety Instructors/ Canadian Lifesaving Society Instructor Certificate
Current Standard First Aid Certificate
Pool Operators Certificate

Job Description:
Each Lifeguard, as a Recreation Counsellor, is responsible for the planning and instruction of a recreation group during the summer.  Lifeguards are also responsible for pool maintenance and records, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.  The Lifeguard is responsible to:
Provide life guarding and instructional lessons in the swimming pool in accordance with health and safety procedures.
Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed during all aquatic activities.
Observe each camper's progress and provide adaptations to the camper's program as needed.
Compile an end of camp summary outlining each camper's progress, areas of strength and areas that still require focus.
Conduct daily testing of pool and record the results in a logbook.
Daily maintenance of pool, toys and area around the pool.
Provide general care and supervision to a small group of campers in a cabin.
Assist in providing supervision during large group activities, such as meals, campfire, and camp swim.
To guide campers in work crews when assigned.
To work for the common good of the camp, providing assistance to the directors and other staff as needed.
