Call Schedule:1:6Open spaces, northern lights rippling across the star filled skies. fresh air and wheat fields and some of the most breathtaking sunsets against the prairie horizon. Spiritwood is an agricultural centre situated in the north central Parkland District which also is surrounded by many lakes and cottages which is ideal for our beautiful summers and lake actives. It has a population of about 1,100 and is located 125 kilometers west of Prince Albert and about 110 kilometers northeast of North Battleford. The town has a complete range of recreational facilities and additionally, there are six golf courses in the district, six regional parks, and about 35 lakes within an hours drive.

The Spiritwood and District Health Complex is an integrated health care centre with Primary Care, Long-Term Care, Home Care, Public Health, Mental Health, along with therapies and a variety of other health care services. The long-term care facility has space for 45 residents, with 3 dedicated for respite. There is currently 6 clinicians; 3 physicians and 3 Nurse Practitioners.

The clinic operates with extended hours and is open 0800-1900 weekdays and 1000-1600 on Saturday. The clinic will be moving to a CEC (Collaborative Emergency Care Center) in Mid 2014 which would provide services 7 days per week. The Spiritwood physicians also participate in call at the Parkland Integrated Health Center in Shellbrook which provides Acute and Emergency Services with a minimum of 1 in 4 call and a maximum of 1 in 7 (current ACLS is required). Shellbrook 80 km from Spiritwood and takes approximately 50 minutes to drive.
