The Focus on Families Home visitor will report directly to the Health Program Manager with clinical supervision provided by Saskatoon Tribal Council Focus Prevention Coordinator. This position is full time and will be covering the Mistawasis First Nation. The Focus on Families Home visitor is responsible for carrying out the duties as outlined herein:
Duties:
1)Adhere to the Personnel Policy as set out by the Mistawasis First Nation Chief and Council
2)Maintain strict confidentiality guidelines at all times
3)Work closely with the Health Program Manager and other service providers to improve the health and social outcomes for pregnant women and families with infants and young children
4)Conduct all tasks with regard to any and all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
5)Develop culturally appropriate strategies for pregnant women and families with infants and young children based on best practices
6)Assist in providing intensive prenatal outreach services to pregnant women using drugs and/or alcohol
7)Liaise with community service providers, supports and community cultural resources to assist with the implementation of services and supports
8)Provide confidential and appropriate screening, assessment, referrals and follow-up
Qualifications:
1)Minimum Early Childhood Education Orientation.
2)Understanding and Awareness of local Cultural milieu.
3)Skills in adult learning principles and family dynamics;
4)Must have own transportation, a valid drivers license, and vehicle insurance
5)Food Safe Training
6)CPRC, First Aid & AED
7)Must be eligible to receive a current, original Canadian Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and Automated Child Abuse Record check ;
8)Be available to work flexible hours
