The Candidate
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of
business gained through several years of
manufacturing experience in a kraft recovery
pulping process. The individual will be future
oriented, capable of challenging the status quo by developing plans for long term improvements in
areas of safety, technology utilization including
process reliability, work system evolution and
cost reduction. The ideal candidate must have
excellent leadership and communication skills as
well as a strong ability to build and develop
relationships with proven knowledge and experience
in problem solving. A 1st Class Interprovincial
Steam Ticket is required.
Key Functions: The incumbent will be responsible
for the following functions:
Works to ensure the health and safety of
the crew
Manages/develops weekly crew schedule
Works to develop his/her crew members in
operational practices and their individual
development
Supervises the activities within the
department
Manages within department budget and
control costs
Works to ensure the adherence to the
collective agreement.
Coordinates maintenance activities with
the maintenance crew
Leads his/her crew in developing and
implementing standard practices
Proactively follows up on issues within
the department
Requirements:
Knowledge and experience in safety and
health practices
First Class Interprovincial Power
Engineering Certificate
Excellent leadership skills.
Strong ability to build relationships.
Strong communication skills (written and
oral)
Ability to facilitate and give
presentations
Three to five years experience in Steam &
Recovery area
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to use computers (MicroSoft
Office)
Ability to take initiative
