Description

This position reports to the Superintendent of  the Water Treatment Plant and is responsible for operation of the plant, all remote booster stations and reservoirs. Operations include all phases of water production, treatment, storage, instrumentation and control operations, equipment maintenance, housekeeping as well as maintaining appropriate office and production records. Shift work, call back, overtime and standby including nights, weekends and holidays is required.

Basic Requirements:
. Grade XII Diploma including chemistry;
. Computer training and experience;
. Mechanical aptitude required to perform maintenance of WaterTreatment Plant and remote station buildings and equipment;
. Must successfully complete specified courses required to obtain Water Treatment Plant Operator Certificate; and
. Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 drivers license and R.C.M.P. security clearance.

Desirable Requirements:
. Preference given to candidates who possess Class 2 Water Treatment Plant Operator certification;
. Successful completion of related Post Secondary training, or a water related technology course at a recognized Institute of Technology.  
. Knowledge and experience in the operation of pumps, valves, motors, hydraulics,instrumentation, etc.;

Salary range in accordance with City of Swift Current CUPE Local 183 Collective Agreement. Pay rates based on Level of Certification. Salary Range:  $20.44 to $28.63
