As a Lifeguard/Instructor of the Aquatic Centre, reporting to the Aquatic Coordinator and/or Head Lifeguard, you are energetic and responsible for the direct delivery of swim programs, lifeguarding duties-patron safety while in the pool and on land, attend all in-service training, complete all required reports, maintain accurate attendance information, maintain the equipment inventory, be compliant with the Aquatic Safety Plan, perform regular maintenance/cleaning/pool chemistry tests and adhere/enforce all pool policies/procedures.
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and customer service skills. An ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations is essential. Preference will be given to an individual who has worked in an Aquatic environment for a season and has demonstrated the ability to work in a highly structured and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will need to provide a Criminal Records/ Vulnerable Sector Check prior to the first day of work.
The work schedule will include days, evenings and weekends.
Qualifications: Required-
National Lifesaving Society Lifeguard Certificate and/or
Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate
Red Cross Water Safety Certificate and/or NLS Instructor Certificate
Standard First Aid/CPR-C
