The Contracts Negotiator will represent Bourgault Industries in the negotiation of supply agreements, supply contracts, and service agreements, while ensuring that business is conducted in alignment with the core values of Bourgault Industries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create sound agreements between Bourgault Industries and its suppliers.
Conduct business and build relationships with suppliers in a professional manner
Participate in the selection and evaluation of suppliers.
Perform total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis for all potential products and/or services under consideration.
Analyze past and projected spending, and prepare proposals for improved spending effectiveness.
Educate and advise buyers on changing requirements and contractual agreements.
Document the standard processes used in the development, execution, and maintenance of all procurement related contracts and supply agreements.
Monitor base material/commodity business activities to proactively take advantage of opportunities or prevent issues that may affect the cost or availability of materials, components, or services.
Maintain costs of purchased components and materials in INFOR-XA (ERP system) as per agreement with suppliers.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Degree or diploma in Operations, Purchasing or Materials Management (or a related field) and/or a professional designation in a materials related field.
The following designations are an asset: SCMP, CPIM, CSCP, CET.
Minimum of 10 years of materials or manufacturing experience
Effective communication and listening skills
Ability to build strong relationships and to negotiate with suppliers
Strong analytical skills, with a practical and logical approach
Ability to creatively and rationally solve problems
Broad understanding of customers needs
Ability to take initiative and work independently
