Responsibilities
The YMCA is currently looking for an energetic person to join our day camp staff team. The successful candidate will be a fully certified lifeguard and swimming Instructor available to work Monday to Friday. This position is primarily a Lifeguard role, but will include providing support to our day camp counselors as well.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Administer emergency procedures, enforce aquatic safety policies at the Prairie Cadet Camp;
- Maintain a positive attitude with children and staff to ensure a harmonious working relationship;
- Assist with camp counselors and other camp services when necessary;
- Maintain and upgrade certifications as required;
- Report any unsafe condition(s) to immediate supervisor;
- Assist and oversee children while swimming;
- Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- NLS
- WSI or YSI
- LSI and experience working as a lifeguard for another facility will be considered an asset.
- Valid drivers license
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check & Child Welfare check is a condition of employment
- Experience: 6-12 Months
- Students hired must be at least 16 years of age, enrolled as a student at a secondary or post secondary school or institution.
