Under the supervision of the Regional Accounting Manager, the Accounting Supervisor plans, organizes, supervises, assigns and reviews the work of accounting clerks in administering accounts payable and receivable; processing, verifying and recording financial documents and forms and payments on overdue accounts. He/She examines and verifies accuracy of work and authorizes routine payments, credits, deposits and withdrawals. The Accounting Supervisor calculates, prepares and issues documents related to accounts using computerized and manual systems. He/She codes, totals, batches, enters, verifies, and reconciles transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements in a ledger or computer system.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field,
OR
- High school diploma AND several years experience in a related field
Language requirement: Bilingual Mandatory
Level: N/A (No proficiency), 1(Basic), 2(Functional), 3(Advanced), 4(Professional)
Non bilingual candidates may apply but will only be considered if the bilingual mandatory staffing process is unsuccessful. In that event, the successful non-bilingual candidate will be required to undertake second language training.
