Description

Duties and responsibilities:
Summer Fun is a recreation and leisure program for
children, youth and young adults with varying
abilities, between the ages of 6 and 22 years.  
The Summer Fun Coordinator is responsible for
coordinating and scheduling group activities,
participant selection, recruitment of volunteers
and record keeping.  Duties include:
-    Assemble and distribute application
packages    
-    Conduct  participant selection through in-
home visits with participants and their families
-    Organize and conduct recreational
activities and prepare and distribute schedule of
activities.
-    Organize and coordinate transportation for
all activities
-    Purchase supplies and materials needed for
activities and within a budget
-    Document daily activities, attendance and
maintain client and program files
-    Give media interviews as required
-    Recruit and coordinate volunteers for
activities
-    Distribute and collect program evaluations
-    Complete and distribute to funders a year
end report
-    Provide an engaging, interactive, safe and
fun atmosphere for participants
-    Some evening work will be required
Qualifications:
-    Student continuing in full time post
secondary education in Kinesiology, Education,
Recreational Therapy, Social Work or related
disciplines
-    Preference will be given to candidate with
valid First Aid and CPR.
-    Basic computer skills using Microsoft
Office programs
-    Valid Drivers License and working vehicle
Experience
-    Experience working with people or children
with physical and/or mental disabilities preferred
-    Excellent communication, time management
and organizational skills
-    Innovation and creative thinking skills
The final candidates are required to provide
satisfactory police record checks
