Summer Visitor Services  Summer Student
Western Development Museum  Moose Jaw
Start Date: May 11/14

The Western Development Museum  Moose Jaw requires a Summer Visitor Services from May 11/14 to Aug 30/14.  Must be available to work weekends.

* As per the requirements of the Canada Summer Job's grant all applicants must have been registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year and must intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year.

General Description:
The Summer Visitor Services is responsible for assisting Visitor Services in the operation of the Gift Shop and visitor services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
    Greet and direct Museum guests
    Process admissions and Gift Shop sales
    Opening/Closing duties
    Light cleaning in the Gift Shop and Visitor Services area
    Answer telephone and respond to customer inquires in a courteous and professional manner
    Assist with Programming when needed
    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Previous retail and cashier experience an asset but not necessary.
Be self-motivated and able to work independently; willing to work weekends; have superb organizational skills; and have excellent written and oral communication skills.  The WDM believes that employees should be representative of the public it serves and therefore encourages the participation of all Government of Canada's job equity groups (i.e. women, persons with disabilities, visual minorities, first Nations).

Knowledge of the Western Development Museum  Moose Jaw would be an asset.
