The City of Estevan is looking for an independent, self-motivated individual to become our Manager of Open Space, Forestry, and Pest Management. The ideal candidate would be capable of building and leading a strong team responsible for a wide variety of valued public services, directing staff in the development and maintenance of public spaces, controlling the use of assets and funds in order to maintain operational efficiency, addressing any concerns within the department, coordinating with other departments and managers, and communicating effectively with the public.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-    Development and implementation of the departmental business plan and accompanying budget
-    Providing direction and leadership to staff while developing both individuals and the team
-    Negotiation and coordination with parties external to the organization
-    Coordination and communication with other business service divisions
-    Research and evaluate potential new materials and systems related to the needs of the department

This position requires:
-    A University Degree in Science, Horticulture, Forestry, Arboriculture, Parks Planning/Management, Public Administration, or related discipline.
-    Five to eight years of experience with a municipal government involving facility operations, program delivery, and community development, including three or more years of experience in a senior supervisory and/or management role.
