Job Duties
Develops and conducts childrens programs in the region. Incorporates Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library material into programs.
Presents Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library programs to parents in the region.
May present LEAP workshops and run LEAP programs in the region
May present Pre-natal Caring Circle workshops in the region
Works with First Nation and Newcomer organizations
In conjunction with Assistant Regional Director trains staff and volunteers
Contacts branches and community organizations about the programmes
Sets up schedules of programme delivery.
Develops promotional materials for literacy programmes.
Maintains programming statistics and evaluation forms.
Completes reports required by grants
Applies for grants
Makes presentations for funding
Determine high need groups and determine benefits
Organizes literacy material at headquarters.
Requirements
Community College training in Literacy, Library Techniques or Early Children Education
Experience in conducting literacy programs or willing to take Government spon-sored literacy courses
Valid drivers license
Acceptable criminal record check required
