Description

We are recruiting for a physically fit, safety minded On-Site Construction Manager willing to work throughout Saskatchewan and able to work out of province.  Your schedule will vary, requiring you to work up to 3 weeks out of town  with over time when necessary.  Reporting directly to the VP, Construction you will be responsible for managing and leading the project team.  You will provide on-site technical advice and assistance to subcontractor crews and Norseman crews.  

Tasks/Responsibilities
Manage construction projects from conception to completion, by maximizing resources, minimizing costs, working within budget, and monitoring progress against established schedules
Ensure the construction team meets/exceeds all contract obligations and targets
Collaborate with departments to prepare the construction project budget estimates and submit information on a timely basis
Plan and establish construction schedules and milestones
Direct the purchase of building materials and ensure delivery is timely
Lead and direct the day-to-day activities of subcontractors and Norseman construction crews
Identify and address potential problems, and negotiate/or resolve conflict issues in a timely manner
Conduct hazard assessments and write site and project specific safe work procedures

Competencies/Skills
In-depth knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in erection of a steel framed, fabric covered building.
Awareness of employment and safety legislation
Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening)

Managerial and leadership skills
Interpersonal skills with an ability to motivate a team
Definitive decision making and problem solving skills

Experience
Minimum of 7 years of experience in the installation of steel framed, fabric covered buildings with 4 years in a supervisory role
