Description

Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is now inviting applications for 1 (one) Permanent Full Time, Home Health Aide, to assist in the Home and Community Care Program for the community of La Ronge. S/he will be reporting to the Home Care Nursing Coordinator. The main goals are to promote the client's ability to live independently in their own homes.

Duties:
-    Use skills and interventions to meet the physical, social/cultural, emotional and spiritual needs of the client.
-    Provide home management, personal care and respite assistance to clients as delegated by a Registered Nurse and according to the approved care plan;
-    Performing procedures such as foot and nail care, monitoring medical regimes, vital signs and catheter care, etc.;
-    Providing household management assistance to clients according to the care plan including menu planning, mending, laundry, ironing, changing linen, general household cleaning and meal preparation;
-    Maintaining accurate client records of care given and health status changes observed in the clients;
-    Work effectively with health care team;
-    Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate;

Qualifications:
-    Continuing Care Assistant/Home Health Aide Certificate or relevant experience is an asset;
-    Basic Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 including Microsoft Outlook;
-    Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
-    Ability to speak and understand Cree is a definite asset;
-    Must have a Class 5 Drivers license;
-    Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record Clearance/Child Abuse Record Check and Driver's Abstract required upon hire;

Salary/Wage:     $ 29,783.00 to $ 40,028.00 (depending on Education and Experience).
