Description

Role:
We are actively recruiting a full time, permanent position.  We are looking for a physically fit, safety minded Construction Crew Supervisor, who is results- driven and can motivate and lead an assigned installation crew.  Reporting directly to the Construction Install Manager, you will supervise the erection of steel trusses to form the interior skeleton and install appropriate covers of a building. Your schedule will vary, and you will be required to work up to 3 weeks out of town and work over time when necessary. You will be required to use man lifts, power tools and other safety apparatuses.  As the supervisor of your team, you will direct and support your crew and represent our Company professionally at all times.

Tasks/Responsibilities
Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of the installation crew
Meet work schedules and coordinate work activities with other subcontractors
Resolve problems as they arise onsite
Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
Train workers on job duties
Ensure worker comply with all legislations, company policies and procedures
Prepare work progress reports and other customer documents as required

Competencies/Skills
In-depth technical knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in erection of a steel framed, fabric covered building
Ability to read blueprints, specifications and drawings
Supervisory skills
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Customer service skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Project management skills to maximize the use of available resources and minimize the project cost
Flexibility to travel and work on rotation
Adaptable to extreme climate changes
Awareness of employment and safety legislation

Experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the installation of steel framed, fabric covered buildings, of which 2 years must be in a leadership role
