Description

Develops and monitors work experiences and job
carving opportunities for participants in work
skills areas.
Duties and responsibilities:
-  Assumes a lead role in development,
implementation, and quarterly review of the annual
Person-Centered Plan for caseload;
-  Administers and analyzes client assessment
tools including the CAWS and develops vocational
training plan (VTP) based on these results;
reviews plan quarterly to measure goal achievement
and updates plans accordingly;
-  Conducts a monthly solution-focused counselling
meeting with each participant on caseload;
-  Develops within the Council, work experiences
and job carved employment for participants,
ensuring a task analysis is completed and followed
for each work activity;
-  Works closely with Partners in Employment staff
to ensure a smooth transition to employment
services; and
-  Works with Program Coordinators to coordinate
and ensure delivery of day program services as
outlines in PCPs.
-  Recruits and trains Work Skills Support
Worker(s) and provides supervision, daily
direction, and performance management.  
Qualifications:
Education:
-  Post-secondary degree in the Human Services
Field
-  Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Experience:
-  Experience in staff supervision with strong
leadership and communication skills
-  Well developed interpersonal skills to work
effectively and cooperatively with individuals
with varying abilities, coworkers, community
supports, and businesses
-  Knowledge, understanding and ability to work
with issues of people with varying abilities, such
as:  poverty, housing, supports, as well as
services available
-  Effective written and verbal communication
skills to express ideas and information in a clear
and concise manner
-  Experience in the supported employment field
